I got an email from Wil Wheaton a couple of weeks ago with the subject line “I have an idea…” A dozen or so emails back and forth, a few rough concept drawings and a bit of photoshoppery on my part and BLAMO! We have a new shirt design that expresses both an affinity for The Doctor and a basic acceptance of sports and the attire that is generally associated with… tennis? Footbasket? Basehoops! I know Wil like’s hockey. It must be a thing about hockey points.
Wil’s approach to creating… stuff is a shining example of the geek motto, “Get Excited and Make Things.” He has an idea, he gets giddy (literally giddy… bouncy, giggly, the whole situation), and he finds a way to bring that idea into meatspace. In this case, I was the conduit through which the idea was made solid, and for that I am honored (and quite giddy in my own right… still vibrating a bit, actually). I hope you guys dig the shirt (it is both timey-wimey AND spacey-wacey) and find a reason to get excited and make something of your own.
